Slop Engagement Operations - The Weird Web of an AI-Fueled SEO Spambot

Alex Delamotte | Jim Walter

In April 2025, SentinelLabs shared details about AkiraBot, a framework used to spam website chats and contact forms to promote a low-quality search engine optimization (SEO) service using LLM-generated content to create a unique outreach message for each targeted website.

Like any AI-enabled operation, the tangled web of this bot's activity gets more complex and bizarre the more you stare at it. The bot framework utilizes multiple layers of tools to create synthetic identities and online profiles--including randomly generated names, residential and mobile proxies and browser fingerprints--that are designed to bypass website safeguards like CAPTCHAs and network detections.

This talk will focus on attribution of the websites advertised in these spam campaigns and updates to the actor's TTPs following the release of our report.
